M8 - The Lagoon Nebula in Sagittarius-An HaRGB Combination Image

The Lagoon nebula is a very bright cloud of ionised hydrogen gas located toward the galactic center and approximately 4,100 light years distant from Earth. In apparent size on the night sky, it spans about twice the area of the full moon.
