Golden Spike N.H.S. Promontory Summit, UT - 2004

By fortunate coincidence, it was the first day of the season when we traveled to Promontory Summit. The locomotives were newly polished and gleaming in the spring sun as they re-enacted the ceremony that completed the trancontinental railway at this point in Utah in 1869.
