The Rosette Nebula in Hydrogen Alpha and RGB

Imaged from Nova Scotia Fall, 2011 through a Canon 600mm f4.0 telephoto lens using a modified Canon T3i DSLR and a 6nm Hydrogen Alpha Filter.

The Ha only image above is the result of stacking 19 twelve-minute exposures. All were at f4.0 and ISO 800 on a modified Canon T3i DSLR through a 6nm Hydrogen alpha filter.

Below is the nebula in a combination of Ha and RGB wavelengths. The image is the result of stacking an additional 29 two-minute and one 4-minute exposures in RGB with the same Ha data as used for the top image. All were at f4.0 and ISO 800 on a modified Canon T3i DSLR.
