An Old Favourite

This fellow showed up at our home here in Nova Scotia during a bitterly cold outbreak in February, 2003. The temperature was a frigid minus 18 degrees Celsius (0 degrees Fahrenheit). He was WAY too early! He was attracted by a particularly bountiful crop of berries on the mountain ash tree in my yard. We watched, and photographed, him over a period of several days as the berry crop got him through the cold spell. We loved his big orange-like chest and that banana beak!
